Captain Kirk
I apologize for the next god knows how many posts…but I keep finding these hilarious videos with Captain Kirk.  Every single one makes me crack up.  I must save them!

Jason Segel and the Penis That Could
So I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall for the first time.  I had always thought that Jason Segel was attractive, but after seeing him full-frontal nude he got, like, ten times sexier.  Because DAMN that man has a beautiful manhood.  So heres to you Mr. Segel, you and your penis. Please keep getting parts in movies where you show it off.

Bite me: A Love Story by Christopher Moore.
‘Kay so,(to quote one of the main characters) the first paragraph (and those following in the chapter) were initially confusing.  Why would anyone want an entire novel from the perspective of an annoying goth valley high teenager?  Then new characters took over, and even the initial voice of Abby Normal suddenly became charming as the story progressed.  Honestly, Moores’ ability to...

Again, another extravaganza at the library with the handy-dandy library card.  I swiped these from the top shelf of the browsing category, based mostly on the attractiveness of the cover.  Shallow, I know. 1) Bite me: A Love Story by Christopher Moore.  2) Pygmy by Chuck Palahnuik 3) The Library: An Illustrated History by Stuart A. P. Murray, Donald Davis, and Nicholas A. Basbanes  4) Some...

Friends and Bears
Something about being home with my family causes my body to go into pre-hibernation mode.  I might as well go to Alaska and compete with the grizzly’s for salmon. It started off well with just a cup of coffee and then it all just went to hell: Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with garlic, capers, and parmesan cheese (delicious btw!) then a shit ton of tator tots Lunch 3 cinnamon rolls Dinner ...

Man (and girl) crush of the moment
Jamie Hince, from the Kills.  Also Allison Mosshart.  Both of them are hipster hot, the kind of beauty that is dangerous, harsh and dirty with a hint of crazy and just enough poetry to make it all worth it.

Hell explained by chemistry student →
The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is…

On tetrachromacy or another reason women are... →
fuckyeahchemistry: Some women are lucky enough to see colors beyond what the rest of us can imagine. Tetrachromats have four color receptors rather than the regular three, allowing them to see colors the rest of us can’t even dream about. Because of genetic issues, it is impossible that a male could be a tetrochromat, and it is in fact more likely for males to be minus one of the regularcolor...

Adventures in Cooking
While scrounging around the fridge for food (blatantly ignoring leftover beef stroganoff from the night before) I grabbed two kinds of zucchini and garlic.  Some slicing, a fry pan, and a shit ton of olive oil later and I had a delicious nutritious meal.  I’m not a big fan of zucchini, so I cook the crap out of it and use strong flavors, but its cheap and lasts about 3x longer than...

Why We Make Mistakes by Joe Hallihan. I have a problem with checking out books at the library.  Once I grab a book on a shelf, I’ll end up walking away with about 10.  Like some sort of ADD shop lifter I grab secretively and randomly straight of the shelves and shuffle off to the self check out stand.  This was one of the books in my latest trip (one among the many). Its a quick easy...

Graphology
Sometimes I write like my mother, big feminine loops and curves. Sometimes I write like my father, hurried and distracted, scrunched together and all in capitals. An entire paragraph that’s urgent urgent urgent.  My handwriting has a changeability, unconsciously I cycle through small letters, big letters, cursive, print, right slant, left slant…  If I were a graphologist I’d say...

Last night I had a dream that I entered the same pet store of my childhood that I used to visit whenever my father went to Martial Arts class (the studio was right next to the pet store) and played with little hedgehogs.

Band of the week- The Bird and the Bee
A recent discovery.  I liken them to some sort of 60s/50s retro-alternate-indie pop band consisting of the sweet-toned Inara George, backed by genius Greg Kurstin (previous part of Geggy Tah).  So far, my favorites definitely have to be ‘Again and Again’ (awesome song that is definitely about sex) and ‘Ray Gun’ which sometimes I’m pretty sure is about ray guns… ...

Cooking experiment #3
Attempted to make cupcakes with Raspberry Cream Cheese frosting.  I used lemon instead of vanilla cupcakes and strawberry instead of raspberry for the frosting.  Turned out pretty well I think.  The only problem I had was that in the frosting the cream cheese flavor seemed to over take the strawberry flavor.  Also, the recipe has you put in wayyyyyyyyyy too much sugar then is necessary. Lemon...

Manly Love by Axel Nissen. Sometimes interesting, sometimes dull.  It’s the type of book for the kind of person that likes to interject interesting little “facts” about history in an attempt to liven the conversation and comes off as arrogant. Example: I was watching Brideshead Revisited with my roommate.  She immediately called the relationship between the two characters gay. ...

Cooking Experiment #2
Second attempt at scavenging through my refrigerator and creating a delicious meal. And it includes eggs…again. Garlic Eggs Poached in Olive Oil: A shit-load of olive oil garlic (chopped into itty bits) eggs salt n pepper Pour crap load of olive oil into a skillet.  Let heat for awhile.  Add garlic.  Make sure to watch.  Garlic burns fast! Add eggs and cook til done.  Now I’ve...

Cooking Experiment #1
Today and hopefully for the rest of this month I plan on creating something edible from the ingredients I already have in the kitchen.  Today’s experiment was an eggy-cheesy bake. Ingrediants: eggs cheese bread seasonings (whatever you want, I used chopped garlic, salt, mustard, and paprika) First, line the bottom of a baking pan (a small one with thick sides) with ripped up bread. ...

Size matters
The following is something I wrote as the “entrance” essay for college applications.  While parts are particularly made to entice the readers in to thinking “Hey, this chick deserves to go to this college!” a lot of it still holds true: Being A Plus-sized Woman in a Half-sized World Fat.  Walking down the halls of any school one is more like to hear the word fat and the...

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Fantastic film!  Magical, romantic, funny, and tragic.  Lily Cole plays Valentina, the daughter of 1000 year old Dr. Parnassus.  Amazingly talented and GORGEOUS! Honestly hoping that she becomes the next it girl.  Of course Heath Ledger’s performance is also great, in fact all of the actors (with the exception of the midget dude played by the guy everyone knows as mini-me from Austin Powers)...
