Manly Love by Axel Nissen.
Sometimes interesting, sometimes dull. It’s the type of book for the kind of person that likes to interject interesting little “facts” about history in an attempt to liven the conversation and comes off as arrogant.
Example: I was watching Brideshead Revisited with my roommate. She immediately called the relationship between the two characters gay. I stated that it was simply an example of the Victorian Romantic friendship and went on the lecture her about the difference between Victorian love and modern love. Thanks book, for making me sound like more of a asshole know-it-all.
If you want more proof that the Victorian era was a shitty time to live, well read this and ponder why there are so many trashy girl-porn romance novels set during this time period.
Anyways, the author’s name is Axel…nuff said.
